sOCIAL SOLUTIONS
The International Living Future Institute // Biophilic Design Initiative

This initiative is a multi-faceted educational tool used on a global scale. It’s goals include:

Create a place to file, archive, and offer resources for public access.

Generate resources for ideas, events, and collaborative opportunities which connects nodes around the world.

Assemble educational tools to develop a databank for case studies.

Connect project teams with biophilic design practitioners and research scientists.

Conduct more in-field research to encourage public to learn through a hands on approach.

Create large networking and collaborative opportunities and network projects through member events and conferences.

Draft a biophilic design implementation process for the Living Building Challenge.
IMPLEMENTATION
Hotelier Barry Sternlicht created the 1 hotels with sustainability and biophilic design at its core throughout development, construction and now in operations. Below are examples of the 1 Hotel’s Biophilic Designs social solutions as well as environmental and economic:
